Virginia Ruenette Minshew McDaniel

McDANIEL Virginia Ruenette Minshew McDaniel, 76, of Ponte Vedra Beach, died Wednesday, June 26. Ruenette was born on November 30, 1925 in Cherokee County, Alabama and moved to Cedartown, GA in 1938. She graduated from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama in 1946. She taught First Grade in Cedartown before moving to Jacksonville in 1955. She continued to teach First grade for the next 22 years at Stockton Elementary and Atlantic Beach Elementary. Ruenette was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Palms Presbyterian Church, the Ponte Vedra Club and the Florida Yacht Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, C. Darwin McDaniel, Jr. in 1991. She is survived by one son; Coly D. " Mac" McDaniel III of Orlando, FL; two sisters Nell Jo Morris and Tressie M. Lumsden of Rome, GA; one Brother, Harwell G. Minshew of Cedartown, GA; two Sisters-in-law, Carol M. Crumley of Jacksonville and Iris M. Curry of Atlanta; one granddaughter, Kara Boyd McDaniel; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday July 1, at Palms Presbyterian Church. Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
