Wesley Tyler McKinley
MCKINLEY Wesley (Wes) Tyler McKinley, 16, of North Port, Florida placed himself in God's hands on Friday April 8, 2011. Wes is survived by his parents Charles & Margaret McKinley, his older brother and protector, Blake Jacobson, and his Nana, Lorraine Jacobson. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins and innumerable friends. Wesley attended North Port High School after relocating from Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic School, and then attended Bishop Kenny High School prior to moving to North Port. Wesley was a kind and gentle soul, with "sapphire blue eyes" and a smile and a good word or thought for everyone. He was the big brother many never had, and in his own words "he always tried to make the people he cared about smile". Wesley was a self-taught guitarist, making beautiful music; a talented artist, and wise beyond his years. He dearly loved the students at his schools, and embraced the North Port High School community, which totally embraced him. His "Bieber" do, his Marlin's hat and his "Hollister" look will be forever in our hearts. He was a wonderful son, brother and friend, and will be missed every minute of every day. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 on Friday, April 15, 2011 at San Pedro Catholic Church. A reception to celebrate Wesley's life will be held at Tavern by the Green at Sabal Trace Golf & Country Club after the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Port High School Music Dept. (in memory of Wesley McKinley) 6400 W. Price Blvd., North Port, Florida 34291. Farley Funeral Home in North Port is handling the arrangements. To send condolences visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com .

Dear McKinley Family,
I don't know you and I didn't know Wesley, but I have a son who is the same age as Wesley that goes to Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville. I can't even imagine the pain and sorrow you must be feeling right now. I just hope that knowing that Wesley is in a better place brings you some sort of peace and comfort. I pray for the healing of your hearts and hope that the sweet memories of Wesley will get you through each day! May God bless you and keep you!

Wesley, we are going to miss you in advisory, me and kevin were talking about you today and how you were just such an amazing person. I love how you'd ALWAYS try and put a smile on our faces and would sit and play your guitar without a care in the world. I was going through my pictures today and I found the picture of all of us in the band room with the lights off and the black light on. Your face was PRICELESS. haha. oh and how you were going to be michael jackson for the video we were gonna make! Im going to miss you :'( so will everyone else. To Wesley's family...You will always be in my prayers.

Bye Wes :/ ill see you later.

To Wes' Mom, Dad, Brother and Gradmother, family and friends:
Your loss is unimaginable, a pain that can take your breath away, and we mourn with you. Please, friends of Wes, look to eachother and God during these difficult days, and talk to eachother. Check on eachother, love and be patient with one another. Your grief will pass and what will remain with you, for your lifetime, will be your love for Wesley.
May God and the Lord Jesus be your strength and your shield as you brave this storm--Let Him calm it for you. Praying for your peace.

Our prayers are with the family of this young man as God welcomes him into his heavenly kingdom. May God give them the peace and strength to perservere and come to terms with such a tragic loss. May they understand that sometimes things are out of our hands and there are powers and forces greater than each of us. This young man must be needed somewhere else right now. Dear God, please help the family and friends of Wes to accept that even though we may not have all the answers, YOU always do! May they believe that one day they will be reunited again in heaven! May God Bless them!
