BETTY BOOM Obituary

Betty Lou Boom, 86, of Knoxville, passed away at her home on December 20, 2024.
She was born in Little Marsh on September 4, 1938, and was a daughter to the late George A. Carr and Frances Cornish. She was raised and cared for by her late foster mother, Mildred Clark. On December 14, 1957, Russel C. Boom married Betty, having spent 68 loving years together.
Betty loved traveling to Florida and going on camping trips with Russell and the family. She enjoyed crosswords, puzzles, using the computer for Facebook and playing bingo. She was a member of the Florida Estate Activities and Clubhouse, and she loved her Thursday lunches with the other ladies from the group. She also was devoted to God and had a deep faith in Him.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Russell Boom of Knoxville; daughters, Sharon (Pete) Pinneda of Texas, Brenda (Ernie) Falk of Wisconsin, Fawn (Arnie) Knapp pf Pennsylvania and Susette (Michael) Reid of Georgia; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild; sister, Mary Phelps of Harrison Valley; many nieces and nephews; and several friends.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; foster mother, Mildred Clark; daughter, Sandy Kibbe; and siblings, Fred, Chuck, Cecil, Helen, Barbara, Eddie, Rita and Betty.
A celebration of life will be held at Omar's Oasis (Knoxville Fireman's Pavilion), located on Market Street, Knoxville, on May 3 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ed Siddle officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.
