To the Walker Family,

You have my prayers and condolences. As a non-traditional, college-aged student, he made me feel welcomed in the Mansfield community. Carl, Nelson and I played on winter and summer league basketball teams from 1988-91. He made it possible for me to work at the Tioga County Detention Center during the Summer while I attended Graduate School at IUP in 1992. He was an outstanding man, great basketball player, and a man with a heart for the young folks that he served. He treated all people with dignity and respect. I was impressed when he brought his nephews from NY to live with him. This lets us know a lot about his character... he wanted to give them a fresh start. He made my Mansfield experience a positive chapter in my life. Thank you for making a difference Bro. Carl Walker, Mansfield will never be the same without you!

On a separate note: our Summer League team was filled with all stars... the other teams did not stand a chance.
