Earl R. Carpenter, 79, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, N.Y. He was born on Jan. 7, 1942, in Blossburg, a son of Robert and Alice (Plumbley) Carpenter. Earl was the husband of Ruth (Logan) Carpenter with whom he would have celebrated 58 years of matrimony on Aug. 23.
He was self-employed in the plumbing and heating industry. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed singing karaoke music, playing in a band, fishing, camping and playing cards.
Earl is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons, Gregory Earl (Deniese) Carpenter of Trout Run and Michael Lee Carpenter of Wellsboro; brothers David (Tina) Carpenter of North Carolina and Carl Carpenter of Wellsboro; sisters, Brenda (Tony) Baker of Brighton and Bonnie (Mark) Thomas of Kittaning grandchildren, Paige, Corey, Michael and Gabriel and great-granddaughter, River.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends and family are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield.
