Eldon Leroy Erway, 73, of Wellsboro, passed away Tuesday. Aug. 31 at Soldiers and Sailors, Wellsboro. He was born July 3, 1948 in Little Marsh to Francis and Agnes (McNett) Erway.
He graduated from Cowanesque High School in the class of 1966, and worked at Osram Sylvania. Eldon was an avid bowler, enjoyed the outdoors - in his younger years hunting and riding motorcycles, and had a genuine passion for his grandchildren.
Eldon is survived by two daughters, Sherry Smith (Steve) of Westfield and Wendy Erway of Lewes, Del.; four grandchildren, Jakob Erway, Trey Smith, Sierra Smith-Slawson (Ryan) and Jewel Smith; a brother, Homer Erway (Nancy), of Little Marsh; nephew, Philip Erway; niece, Christiana Shenk (Mike) and his former wife, Mary Erway of Wellsboro.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Eldon's life from 1-2 p.m. Friday Sept. 3, at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Wellsboro. A funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery.
