ELIZABETH SCHOONOVER Obituary

Elizabeth Jean Schoonover, known by many as Jean, 87, of Elkland, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at the Green Home in Wellsboro following a heart attack.
Born October 5, 1935, in Roaring Branch, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian (Frederick) Kohler.
Jean enjoyed socializing with anyone, watching softball games, playing cards (especially euchre), going out with friends, subs with her niece Alice, being outside and mowing her lawn.
She is survived by her son, Gordon Duff of Elkland and several special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
She touched so many people's lives. She was always strong and independent, willing to help anyone out and not wanting anyone to help her. Jean was that very special person that when you met her, she left an imprint for a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Schoonover on August 31, 2002; two sons, David Duff and Artie Schoonover; sisters, Annabell Slocum, Frances Causer, Alice (II) Smith, Florence (Sissy) Stone and Margaret (Marnie) Boom; a brother, Melvin (Sonny) Kohler and special friends, Ruth and Evelyn.
Per her wishes there will be no services.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery
Memorial donations in Jean's honor may be made to the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, 220 Main St., Unit 2, Towanda, PA 18848.
Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Elkland. www.kenyonfuneralhome.com
