Florrie E. (Gyselinck) Dove, 83, of Tioga (formerly of Levittown), passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Born April 9,1938 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Ethel (Linnaker) Gyselinck. In 1957, she married the love of her life, Donald F. Dove. Together they proudly raised four daughters and owned three businesses. She was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to raising strong women.
Florrie was a devout Catholic, dedicating much of her time to service through volunteering at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Levittown and more recently at Holy Child Parish in Mansfield. She had a passion for giving and generously donated her time to her church communities, having served as head of several committees and fundraisers, chair of St. Michael's Home and School Association, chair of the Holy Child Annual Craft Show, and helping prepare Holy Child's Saturday night dinners.
Florrie's most fulfilling contribution was crocheting and donating over 300 newborn layette sets to local pregnancy care centers. After many years as an elementary education teacher, she and her husband owned and operated Dove's Catering, Dove's Blue Bell Restaurant and Dove's Mountain Store.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Doreen Pfister, Colleen Hanson and Karen Dove; grandchildren, Jesse, Christopher, Brittany, Corbin, Melinda, Makayla and Connor; great-grandson, Dylan; her sister, Debra Templeman; many nieces and nephews and her lifelong best friend, Pat Wolford.
In addition to her parents, Florrie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald; her daughter, Laura and sister, Leona.
She was laid to rest next to her husband in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wilston Funeral Home, Mansfield.
