Lorelle Marie Holcomb passed away peacefully at her home in Burlington, Vermont on Thursday July 15, 2021. Lorelle was a loving mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, and friend.
Lorelle was born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania on March 10, 1981. Even though Lorelle was taken too soon she lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who adored her.
She enjoyed many adventures across the United States and Canada that included biking, hiking, camping, and snowboarding.
In 2005 she joined the U.S. Army where she spent time in Afghanistan, Germany, and Hawaii. Through her years of service, Lorelle earned the rank of Sergeant, achieving numerous awards and accommodations while serving her country. Lorelle was a decorated soldier, her achievements include an Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and a NATO Medal.
Long after her honorable discharge, Lorelle continued to support veterans and veteran organizations through one of her many passions, running. Lorelle was an amazing mother and thought the world of her children.
Her generosity had no boundaries, she would do anything for anybody. She was a strong-willed individual, she always fought for what she believed in.
Lorelle is survived by her three amazing children, Sara (13), Elliott (10) and Cassie (7), as well as the children's father Davin Holcomb (and wife Tiffany) who reside in Indianapolis, Ind.; parents, Pax and Kirsten Whipple and Karen and David Huck; grandmother, Lois Whipple; siblings, Lynette (Whipple) Sly (and husband Richard), Marc Huck (and wife Melissa and sons Liam and Lenox), Cody Whipple (and fiancé Amanda), Tim Huck and Curtis Whipple (and girlfriend Whitney). Additionally, she is survived and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Lynn Whipple and grandparents, Ernie and Alice Stoltenberg.
While Lorelle's family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Lorelle in a way that honors her spirit. The family invites the community to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony at the Wellsboro United Methodist Church, 36 Main Street, Wellsboro, on Wednesday, July 21 at 11 a.m. A luncheon will be provided after the service at the church.
