LYMAN DIBBLE Obituary
Born Feb. 20, 1929, in Westfield, he was the son of the late Lyman S. Dibble and Gertrude I. Bradt Dibble.
He graduated from Westfield High School and attended Mansfield and Penn State Universities.
Lyman owned and operated his own trucking company for over 20 years. In 1977, he married the love of his life, the former Virginia Carruba Briggs. Together, they celebrated 36 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on May 26, 2013.
Lyman was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed traveling, playing the daily lottery and taking trips to Salamanca.
Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Dibble Kaylan and her husband, Howard, of Bellevue, Washington, Melinda Dibble Coomes and her husband, Thomas, of North Liberty, Ind. and three sons. Lyman is also survived by two grandchildren, Thomas E. Coomes II of South Bend, Ind., Haley M. Coomes of Orlando, Fla. and two sisters, Marcia Elliott and Sherell Boom and her husband, Charley, all of Westfield.
A private memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
Lyman and Virginia always helped those in need, especially the children, therefore, memorial contributions may be given in the name of Lyman S. Dibble to Keystone SMILES, P.O. Box 352, Knox, Pa. 16232, a children's program or a charity of choice.
