MARTIN A. "MARTY" WOOD

1958 - 2025

Martin A. ""Marty"" Wood, 66, of Little Marsh, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, in UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport surrounded by his family. He was born October 5, 1958, in Wellsboro, to Waldo H. and Olive A. (Merrick) Wood.
He graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School, class of ""1976"", and on August 22, 1981, he married Lisa Ann Bryant, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Marty was a heavy equipment operator and worked for his parents until he bought the business, Wood's Excavation, and he served as a Chatham Township Supervisor from 2013 to 2025. He was a member of the Keeneyville United Methodist Church, and he loved the outdoors, his work, wildlife, and especially his family.
Marty is survived by his wife: Lisa Wood of Little Marsh; his mother: Olive Wood of Little Marsh; his daughter: Martina Catherman (Chris) of Little Marsh; two grandchildren: Cruz and Kinzley Catherman of Little Marsh; a brother: Henry Wood (Sylvia) of Knoxville; a sister: Cynda Jewell of Fairport, N.Y.; his father-in-law: Chuck Bryant of Middlebury Center; sister-in-law: Deb Pascale (Louie) Jr. of Middlebury Center; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father: Waldo Wood, his mother-in-law: Beverly Bryant, and a brother-in-law: Hadley Jewell.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Marty's life from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 26, at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, September 27. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kerry Richard Dean and Rev. Roxanne Bryant Dean of Ohio officiating.
Burial will be in the Middlebury Union Cemetery.
