PAUL PATTERSON Obituary
Paul married Norma R. Rathbun on Nov. 20,1954; together they raised four children. He taught them the benefits of hard work, the importance of balancing work and play, and the joy of giving back to the community. They built a beautiful home for their family with a barber shop on back of the house, where he worked part time as a barber. After 37 years of service, he retired from the Consolidated Gas Company as a Compression Station Operator.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Norma; children, Daniel (Pamela) Patterson, Paul D. (Cynthia) Patterson, Pamela Corinha and John (Karen) Patterson; grandchildren, Jeremy, Corey, Cody and Jake Patterson, Ashley Patterson Nelson and Madeline Patterson Baleno; great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Breann Patterson, Ellie Baleno and Evelyn Nelson; siblings, Joanne Fitzwater, Dorothy Cole, Nancy Bartoo and Duane Patterson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paul was a Mason and Past Master, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. Throughout the years, he took many trips with his children and grandchildren, enjoying the opportunity to teach them how to fish, camp, build campfires, and skip stones. He was devoted to his family and served an exemplary role model and mentor to everyone.
The Patterson family extends their gratitude and thanks to the nurses, doctors and the entire team of dedicated professionals at the University of Rochester Hospice Medical Group.
Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland on Saturday, January 18 from 1 – 3 p.m. A Celebration of Paul's Life will be held immediately following at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Larry O'Dell officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Paul's honor to the UR Medicine Hospice, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580. www.kenyonfuneralhome.com.
