Virginia and I extend our deepest sympathy to Lynn and all his family. Walter and I came to Mansfield about the same time. It was a time of expansion in the Liberal Arts. Walter was a great addition to the English Department. For the next 37 years, Walter’s opinions were always listened to; whether in the Faculty Senate or the Faculty Union. From personal experience, I can say that I often sought Walter’s advice. Walter was a kind and good person and the community will miss him

Walt was a classmate of mine in the Class of '53 at BTHS, Belleville, Il.
I remember him well...a soft spoken and soft smile kind of guy. He was the editor of our Bellevinois Yearbook...most probably a sign of things to come in his future years. RIP Walt.

I remember Walter from his time at MU, and I would see him occasionally at the post office after his retirement. He had a wonderful dry wit and was a compassionate person.
