JODY DENHAM Obituary

JODY DENHAM Jody W. Denham, age 55 passed away unexpectedly in Sarasota Florida on September 8, 2025, the place he proudly called home, after growing up in Tipton and graduating from Tipton High School and earning an associate degree from IUPUI. Born December 13, 1969, to Charles and Becky Denham, he later settled in Sarasota where his easy laughter and larger-than-life enthusiasm build a community of friends, and a successful business with many becoming part of his extended family. Jody was a gifted athlete and a natural teacher and felt most alive on the Alpine slopes or over a deep-water wreck and he loved sharing his passion for spearfishing or downhill skiing and the Dallas Cowboys. He freely offered his time, patients, skill and knowledge to anyone who wanted a hotrod ride or time on the water in his boat. Jody's greatest joy and life's purpose was his daughter, Brooke. As a single parent he loved her - fiercely and being Brooke's Dad was why he woke up every morning. He folded her into his world and his work, teaching her what he knew about cars, boats, business and life and never missed a chance to tell her how proud he was of her. He delighted in mentoring not only Brooke, all his nieces and nephews, as well as all the children of his close friends for whom he was proudly known as "Uncle Jody". The spirit and skills learned from Jody by us all will live on. Those who knew him will remember him as generous and loyal. He met people where they stood and judged them on their own merits rather than stereotypes, he lived with a disarming honesty, "there was no lying in him". A truer and more loyal brother or friend could not be found. He treasured his lifelong bond with schoolmates and family. He will be missed by many. Jody is survived by his beloved daughter Brooke, his mother Becky, his two brothers, Kirtis and Raymond Denham, 3 sisters Amy, Leisa and Kelly and was proceeded in death by his sister Laura and father Charles. He will be missed by countless family, friends, teammates and dive partners resulting in their life's MOTTO: WWJDD What Would Jody Denham Do? A family and friends celebration of life is planned for a future date in Tipton and on Pine Island and in lieu of flowers the family request donations made to: American Kidney Foundation 11521 Rockville Pike Suite 300 Rockville, MD 20852

Im so genuinely sorry for your loss. I only knew him from High School. I graduated in 1991. I just want to extend my prayers and condolences to his loved ones. I remember he was kind and very nice to me just in brief passing in the halls.

So caring and respectful to his family and parents, constantly saying his virtues came from lessons taught to him by his parents. Not a selfish bone in his body, A giver not a taker. A hole in our hearts that will remain forever.

Jody will be forever missed by me , we were classmates all through school. I'll never forget Jody teaching me how to draw semi trucks in 3rd grade. Sharing baseball/football cards with each other, and just laughing and having fun at school. Jody was a true friend, always kind to me .
Rest easy my friend
