Mrs. Adele M. Kunkle

Mrs. Adele M. Kunkle, 85, formerly of Parryville, passed into eternal rest on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in Liza's Personal Care Home, Danielsville. She was the wife of the late John R. Kunkle, who passed away June 17, 2020.

Born in Parryville on Feb. 19, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Irene (Montz) Wentz.

Adele formerly worked in the garment industry and later was a piano teacher, giving private lessons in her home.

She was a renowned organist/pianist for many church parishes in the area.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, especially about history, and spending time with her husband and family.

She currently was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Egypt, PA.

Surviving are two daughters, Iris Neilon (Reverend John) of Fitschburg, MA, and Holly Messinger (Darryl) of Whitehall; a son, Daniel Kunkle (Sophia) of Bartlett, TN; a sister, Christine Whalen (Wesley) of Oceanpost, N.J.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jan Kunkle.

Services: Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. John Neilon officiating. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment, Parryville Cemetery.
