Althea Haydt Obituary

Mrs. Althea M. (Rehrig) Haydt

Mrs. Althea M. (Rehrig) Haydt, 95, of Kunkletown, passed away on Oct. 28, 2025, in the comfort of her own home. She was the loving spouse of Warren Haydt, who passed in 2003. Together, they owned the Haydt's Hotel in Little Gap for 11 years.

Born in Trachsville, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Lillie (Livengood) Rehrig.

Althea was employed by the garment industry, where she retired as a supervisor.

She was a lifetime V.F.W. Auxiliary member with Post 7215.

One of Althea's favorite pastimes was playing cards. She for played 50-plus years in the Blue Ridge pinochle league. She was also very active in the Palmerton Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed and placed in the Senior Olympics.

Althea always enjoyed the family holidays, where she loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was loved immensely and will be missed by everyone.

Althea is survived by her children, James, with wife Tina, Gary, with wife Donna, Donna Johnson and Lisa Willis. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Althea was preceded in passing by her son Dennis and daughter, Sandra Fink, and also her grandson.

Services for Althea will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
