Arthur Lavine Obituary

Arthur H. Lavine, 71, of Nesquehoning, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. He was the husband of Frances (Detz) Lavine. They would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this Saturday, Oct. 16.
He was an operations manager for the Certain Teed Corporation, Nesquehoning, for 35 years, and later worked for Tobyhanna State Park until retiring.
Born in River Rouge, Mich., he was a son of the late Arthur P. Lavine and Ethel Cross.
He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
Lavine was an Army veteran.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Mark, and his wife, Jennifer, of Nesquehoning; four daughters, Kristen, wife of Gary Karnish, and Tracy, wife of Victor Onea, both of Nesquehoning, and Kathryn, wife of Leonard Oriel, and Elizabeth,, wife of Dr. Eric Bradburn, both of Lebanon, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Karnish, Nicholas and Maria Onea, Sean and Megan Lavine, Emily, Logan and Luke Oriel and Avery, Grant and Cooper Bradburn.
Service: Funeral service at 9:30 a.m Friday, Oct. 15, from the Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning; followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 307 Pine St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. William Linkchorst, officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown, Tamaqua R.2. Call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. until the service. Contributions in his name may be made to St. Jerome Regional School, 250 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
