Bruce Ebbert Obituary

Bruce Ebbert

Bruce Ebbert, 99, of Lehighton, entered heaven on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025, at Scenic View Personal Care, Palmerton. He was the loving husband of Shirley (LaRose) Ebbert, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage.

Bruce dedicated his entire working career of 40 years to the Lehighton Borough, primarily as a meter reader.

Born on Friday, July 30, 1926, in Weissport, he was a son of the late Bertram Ebbert and the late Arvilla (Campbell) Ebbert.

Bruce's faith was very important to him, being a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. His last 20-plus years were at St. John's Towamensing Lutheran Church, Palmerton.

In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, hunting and walking.

He was a member of the Lehighton American Legion and Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club.

Bruce was a former volunteer with the Lehighton Fire Co. and a former Master Mason with the F. & A.M. Lodge No. 621, Lehighton, for many years.

Surviving along with his wife are a son, Michael Ebbert, and his wife, Gwen, of Palmerton; four grandchildren, Becky Ebbert, Steph Hosier, Jon Ebbert and Katarina Ebbert; and two great-grandsons, Justin and Brayden Hosier.

He was also predeceased by son, Gary Ebbert; brothers, Lamont Ebbert and Jack Ebbert; and a sister, Faye Hahn.

Service: Memorial service 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Towamensing, 2915 Fireline Rd., Palmerton, with the Rev. Kenneth T. Melber officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2:30-3 p.m. Saturday. The Schisler Funeral Home, Northampton, is in charge of the arrangements.
