Charles Gibson Obituary

Charles S. Gibson Jr.
Charles S. Gibson Jr., 77, of Lehighton, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Bonnie Lou (Campbell) Gibson. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 28.
Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Charles S. Gibson Sr. and Margaret (Ronemus) Gibson.
He was a 1963 graduate of Nesque-honing High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer.
Charles loved his job as a truck driver. He retired in 2003 after driving a tractor trailer for 37 years of service.
He was a 32nd Degree Free and Accepted Mason belonging to Lodge No. 720 of Allentown, a member of both the Blue Lodge of Jim Thorpe and the Raja Shriners.
Charles loved spending time with his family, most especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Paul Gibson, and wife Anita, of Palmerton, Scott Gibson of Lehighton, Tony Gibson, and wife Priscilla, of Melrose, IA; grandchildren, Jay of Lehighton; Cory, and wife Regina, of Pine Grove, Dominique of Newton, IA, and Logan Gibson of Allentown.
He was predeceased by a son, Charles S. Gibson III in 1994.
Service: There will be a service with military honors 10 am., Wednesday, June 8, at 71 Robrucel Drive, Lehighton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 132 S. Wyoming St., Hazleton, Pa. 18201. The Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, Weissport, is in charge of arrangements.
