Charles L. Steigerwalt

Charles L. "Pop" Steigerwalt, 73, of Church Hill Road, Lehighton, East Penn Township, died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 30, in his home. He was the husband of Veronica M. (Aranjo) Steigerwalt since Nov. 21, 1959.
He was a chemical operator for the Mallinckrodt-Baker Co., Phillipsburg, N.J., the former J.T. Baker Chemical Co., for 42 years before retiring in 2000.
He owned and operated Steigerwalt Shooting Supplies, East Penn Township, and was a co-owner of the Go-4 Hole Miniature Golf Course, East Penn Township.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Frederick S. and Mabel E. (Howell) Steigerwalt.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
The deceased was a 1955 graduate of the Lehighton High School.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and traveling to Montana on trips. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving in addition to his widow are four daughters, Kathleen, wife of Michael Barger of Adel, Iowa, Suzanne, wife of Curtis Hartung of Andreas, and twins, Deanne, wife of Toby Snyder of New Tripoli, and Leanne, wife of Ernie Scott of Lehighton; two sons, Michael, and his wife, Beth, of Lehighton, and Stephen, and his wife, Michele, of Coplay; a sister Patricia, wife of Clark Strohl of Jim Thorpe; a brother Stanton, and his wife, Linda, of Breinigsville; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandson Landan.
Service: Memorial service 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Tripoli, with the Rev. Scott Lingenfelter officiating. Call 9-10 a.m. Wednesday in the church.
