Chester P. Gieniec

Chester P. "Ace" Gieniec, 62, of 301 W. Patterson St., Lansford, formerly of Summit Hill, died Sunday, Oct. 11, in his home.
He retired from Merck & Co., Lansdale.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of late Stanley and Helen (Kirpolsky) Gieniec of Summit Hill.
He was a 1965 graduate of Panther Valley High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War, having been a recipient of a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Overseas Service Star, Purple Heart and Bronze Star with a V Device for Valor.
He was a member of the Summit Hill American Legion.
The deceased was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a daughter, Jobina Duffy of Blue Bell; a son, Walter Martin of Frankfort, Ky.; five brothers, Stanley, and his wife, Marnie, of Nesquehoning, Edward, and his wife, Nancy, and James and his wife, Kathy, both of Summit Hill, Ronald, and his wife, Sharon, of Coaldale and Michael of Lansford; four sisters, Margaret Pascoe of Summit Hill, Christine, wife of David Feller of Lehighton, Cecelia, wife of Steven Hydro of Jim Thorpe, and Mary Helen, wife of Richard Badowsky of Lansford; two grandchildren, Patrick Duval and Reghan Duffy; and several nieces, nephews.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill. Call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday. American Legion memorial service 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
