Daniel J. Boyle

Daniel J. "Danny" Boyle, 85, of Chapman Street, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Kay (Swartz) Boyle. They shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Daniel and Rose (McTague) Boyle.

He was a graduate of the former Mauch Chunk Catholic High School.

He started his career working for the former Central Railroad, New Jersey. Until his retirement, he was employed at Mack Trucks, Allentown, moving to , Winnsboro, S.C., when the company relocated.

After he retired, the couple moved back to their hometown of Jim Thorpe.

He was a devout Catholic and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe.

He was also a member of the Fairview Hose Co. and the Mauch Chunk Rod & Gun Club, both of Jim Thorpe.

Danny was an avid gardener and took pride in his yard and vegetables.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Timothy D. Boyle of Jim Thorpe; a granddaughter Mallory, wife of Christopher Rook of St. Dominick, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom; and great-grandchildren, Ariella and Thorin Rook.

He was also predeceased by a sister, Joan Percario.

Services: All services will be private. The Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, Jim Thorpe, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 180 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.

To all the Boyle family we are deeply saddened to hear of Danny passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.
Danny was a dedicated worker for Mack Trucks in Winnsboro SC and a very loyal member of UAW Local 5841. He will be remembered always by his fellow brothers & sisters for his grateful willingness and kindness as a fellow coworker.
May God be with you all, RIP Brother Danny.
