Earl W. Kromer


Earl W. Kromer, 79, of 131 Coal St., Lehighton, died Wednesday in the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Ingeborg (Dereser) Kromer. They observed their 54th wedding anniversary last Sept. 8.

Prior to retiring, he was employed by the CocaCola Bottling Works, Palmerton, and later worked at the company's Mt. Pocono plant.

Born in Jamestown, he was a son of the late David V. and Pearl (Warner) Kromer.

He attended Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Lehighton.

Kromer was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, having attained the rank of sergeant while serving in Germany.

He was a member of American Legion Post 314, Lehighton, and the Teamsters Union, Local 773, Allentown.

He was an avid outdooorsman and sportsman.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter Marilen, wife of Robert G. Moser of Lehighton; three sisters, Arlene Miller of Reading, Catherine, wife of Leon Smale of Kunkletown, and Dorothy, wife of Donald Miller of Bristol, Va.; two granddaughters, two great-grandsons and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar, Ervin and Russell; and four sisters, Martha Kromer, Louisa Greensweig, Eva Hill and Ruth Hottenstein.

The Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton, is in charge of the arrangements.
