Elizabeth 'Liz' (Strawn) Juracka

Elizabeth "Liz" (Strawn) Juracka, 72, of Jim Thorpe, passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Bethlehem, Liz was a 1972 graduate of Liberty High School.

She later made her home in Carbon County, where she worked in various positions throughout the community before her retirement.

Liz was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and a warm presence that made everyone around her feel at home.

Liz was a longtime member of Christ United Church of Christ in Jim Thorpe, where she found comfort, connection and faith.

She was married to her devoted husband, Brian Juracka, for 39 years, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter and family.

Liz is survived by her daughter, Ashtyn, whom she cherished beyond words. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Sexton and her husband Roy, who remained close to her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Strawn, her mother, Edith Strawn, and her sister, Nancy Blatnik; all of whom she held dear in her heart.

Liz had a special love for her dogs, Julie and Lucy, who were constant companions and brought her immeasurable joy.

Liz will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle spirit and the way she cared so deeply for those she loved. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.

Services: A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, from 1-2 p.m., with a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Melber Funeral Home Inc., 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229, with Pastor Dr. Wayne Benack officiating in the funeral home.

Melber Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
