Helen Sheers Obituary
Mrs. Helen (Stafiniak) Sheers, 97, of Coaldale, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in her residence. She was the widow of Paul Sheers, who passed away on Oct. 6, 2016.
She was an owner/operator of the Panther Valley Agency insurance company, Coaldale, for 50 years until selling the business and retiring.
Born in Coaldale, she was a daughter of the late Herasim and Eva (Chocholak) Stafiniak.
She was a member of St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, Coaldale, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Slanta; and four brothers, John, Steve, Michael and Simon "Si."
Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, St. Mary's Russian Orthodox Church, 217 First St., Coaldale, with the Very Rev. James Weremedic officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Viewing 9-10 a.m. Saturday in the church. Contributions in her name may be made to the church, 18218. The Sverchek-Blazosky Funeral Home, Lansford, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
