Irene M. Hudasky

Irene M. Hudasky, 92, of Lansford, entered eternal rest on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at Maple Shade Meadows in Nesquehoning.

Born in the East Mauch Chunk section of Jim Thorpe, she was a daughter of the late Harrison L. and Anna M. (Feuerstein) Henritzy.

Irene retired as District Justice for Carbon County District Court 56-3-03, based in Lansford. Prior to that she worked for the Borough of Lansford and became secretary to the late District Justice Joseph Sverchak before receiving the appointment to the District Justice seat in 1986. She was reelected to two consecutive six-year terms before announcing her retirement in 1998. She was a faithful member of St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford.

Irene enjoyed traveling after retiring, often coordinating trips with the Panther Valley Golden Agers.

She will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.

Surviving are nieces, Alicia A. Shiflet and husband William, Carol L. Graves, Jayne E. Nelson and husband Ron; nephews, Fr. Elias (Curtis) Henritzy, O.P., Karl G. Moll, Chris Henritzy and wife Monica Akins; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Lori L. Hudasky; a brother, Harrison M. Henritzy; sisters, Barbara A. Balliet, Eugenia E. Moll and a niece, Linda L. Anderson.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Irene's life at the Bruce A. Nalesnik Funeral Home, 57 W. Center St., Nesquehoning.

Services: Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 2, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with the funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Dillon Epler officiating.

Interment will be at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Cemetery in Summit Hill. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nalesnikfh.com.
