James E. Bauer

James E. Bauer, 70, of Greenwood Street, Palmerton, Franklin Township, died peacefully on Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Green) Bauer since Aug. 31, 2024.

He was employed as an overhead crane operator for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation.

Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late William and Tabitha (Lear) Bauer.

He was a 1973 graduate of Lehighton Area High School.

James enjoyed being an active member and former fireman at the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a son Corey, and his wife, Shannon, of Weirton, WV; two grandchildren, Wyatt James, and Lincoln; a sister Linda, wife of Michael Jackson of Tamaqua; a brother Richard of Franklin Township; several nieces and nephews; and is favorite puppy, Piglet.

He was also predeceased by a daughter, Jaime A. Bauer, who died in 2020; and a brother William.

Service: Funeral service at convenience of family. Arrangements by Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton. Online condolences can be offered at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.

He once told me that when he answered the phone if they asked for Jungle the call came from the south side of the mtn. If they called for Nippsey it was the north side. If they asked for Jim he wasn't home.

The Groove Rockers had the pleasure of meeting James at his retirement party; we performed and became friends. We also enjoyed Ruth and James' wedding party. We so enjoyed them-what amazing friends. He will be missed. He always made us laugh. A great person and friend.
