John Carter Brooks III

John Carter Brooks III of Tulsa, Okla., died on Feb. 23, 2026.

Born on April 13, 1949, in Coaldale, he was the son of John Carter Brooks II and Berniece Ethel Brooks.

He graduated from the Mining and Mechanical Institute in 1967 and from Pennsylvania College of Technology (formerly Williamsport Area Community College) in 1969.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from May 6, 1971, to May 5, 1977. He later worked for Williams from 1980 until his retirement in 2013.

He enjoyed watching and playing sports, visiting the casino, finding a good meal, traveling to Florida and the National Parks, and most of all, spending time wherever his boys were.

He is survived by his three sons, Derrick, Lance and Andrew, their wives, and two granddaughters.

Services: Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday, Moore Funeral Homes & Crematory-Southlawn Chapel, Tulsa.
