Margaret Stafford Obituary
Margaret Kidda Stafford, 91, of Kennett Square, PA, died on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Wilmington, Delaware.
Margaret was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Dancho) Kidda of Coaldale.
Graduating in 1951 with honors from Coaldale High School, Margaret went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Penn State University in 1955. After graduation, Margaret worked in polymer products research for E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, Inc. (DuPont), where she met William F. Stafford, her husband of 64 years.
Throughout her life, Margaret enjoyed learning new things. She especially loved the arts and music, being a long-time concert subscriber to the Philadelphia Orchestra. Margaret was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Lansford, PA, as well as St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Glen Mills, PA.
Margaret is survived by her husband, William; one son, Dr. Marshall Stafford of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Kyra Stafford Marcin and her husband Thomas of Centerville, Delaware; three granddaughters, Dr. Elizabeth S. Marcin, Christiana S. Marcin, and Megan L. Stafford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings, Helen Smith, Michael Kidda, Eva Benek, Julia Rubel, Joseph Kidda, Mary Stetz, Elizabeth Sherbin, John Kidda, Anna Fisher, Andrew Kidda, Irene Momrock, and Bernard Kidda.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street in Tamaqua with The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Joseph Fester officiating. Interment in St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Cemetery in Hometown will follow. Call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions in Margaret's name may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Cemetery Fund, 125 West Bertsch Street, Lansford, PA 18232.
Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.
