Mrs. Mary Helen Rehatchek

Mary Helen Rehatchek, 87, of Lake Hauto, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, in Maple Shade Meadows, Nesquehoning. She was the widow of Robert E. Rehatchek, who passed away on Feb. 14, 2011.

Born in Nesquehoning, she was a daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary (Tyahla) Sniscak.

She was a 1956 graduate of Nesquehoning High School.

She was employed as a union representative and inspector for the former Turner Tubes in New Jersey for 30 years until retiring. She also worked as a self-employed florist and, in her earlier years, worked as a gift wrapper for the former Brights Department Store, Lansford.

She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Parish, Barnesville, and the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.

Mary Helen was a member and past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lansford AMVETS and was a member of the Nesquehoning Historical Society.

Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Atiyeh of Macungie; nieces, Jennifer, wife of Paul Ashley, Janine Atiyeh and Jenelle Atiyeh; nephews, Robert Soltis, John M. Soltis, Joseph Ogozalek and Tony Ogozalek; and a nephew-in-law, Michael Grimaldi.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Soltis; a brother, Thomas Sniscak; and nieces, Mary Jean Soltis and Jayme Grimaldi.

Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 20, St. Richard of Chichester Catholic Parish, 799 Barnesville Drive, Barnesville, with the Rev. Robert T. Finlan officiating, assisted by Deacon Edward J. Girard. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Joseph S. Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 E. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning.
