Mickey and I grew up together as next door neighbors, cousins and buddies. His parents, Steve and Jean were great people, Steve being my Godfather. When I read the wonderful comments made in the attached obituary my only comment is that they are understated; Mickey was a superb son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is in my prayers as are MaryLou and the members of his family. Roy

To Michael's family,
I did not have the priveledge of knowing Michael. However, after reading his Obituary I came to know him as a Lafayette Brother. His achievements in the Classroom, Athletic Field and Business World speaks volumes. Nevertheless, his dedication as a Husband and Father captures the true essence of Michael. I have know doubt he is on God's Team Our Prayers and Sympathey are sent to you

I fondly remember Mike and Mary Lou from our days at Lafayette - those days before we were gray, had all our hair and were team mates on the football team under the guidance of Harry T. Gamble. The best way to describe Mike Hromyak was that he was "A Rock"... way beyond stature, strength and being hard to block - (Mike was on defense, and I was always on the O Line, so I had to block him for four years at practice); but more of a Rock in a way he seemed so solid and unwavering in every endeavor. A wise person always sought out and listened to what Mike's opinions and impressions were on any subject ... usually, though, you had to ask. I'm sure he was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. Hold fast to fond memories - I have some very good ones from over 50 years ago.
Deepest Sympathies, Mary Lou and family,
Rod Gaumer

So sorry to hear about Mike. We met him years ago, while working out at St. Luke’s Hospital. We always enjoyed his company. Mike was such a nice guy the world needs more of. He was always telling us about his grandchildren. RIP my friend.

My wife, and I became good friends with Mike's daughter, Michelle, and her son Logan, and later with Mike, and his wife, MaryLou when they used to visit Michelle in Hometown, Pa. as our neighbors. Mike was one of the nicest, and the most friendliest person I have ever had the privilege of becoming friends with in my lifetime. He was a wonderful father, husband, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed by all of us. May God bring peace and comfort to his family during this time of sorrow, and know that Mike is no longer suffering, and is in a much better place now with our Lord Jesus.

One of the nicest people I have ever met. He was a fraternity brother, fellow member of the football team at Lafayette and someone that I admired for his kindness to an underclassman. He was also an inspiration, showing that you could be a scholar, an athlete and a gentleman. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends.

I would like to send my sincerest sympathies to the entire Hromyak family. I first met Mike when I was a little kid when he played HS football for my father Dick Jones (I also had the pleasure to play 3 sports with his younger brother Ed). Mike truly was a very kind, caring and personable individual who exhibited a positive life message. He was the type of person that our society needs more of. Tamaqua can certainly be proud of this distinguished man and he will be missed but remembered lovingly. God Bless!
