Peter Blynn Obituary
Peter M. Blynn, 90, of Upper Macungie Twp, formerly of Palmerton, passed away peacefully Monday, August 19 in Country Meadows Retirement Community, Allentown, with family at his side. He was the husband of Shirley (Nothstein) Blynn. They were married 68 years last month.
He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Lehigh University in 1956. He then served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Pete spent his career in petroleum sales, distribution and transport. He started as a Northeast Sales Representative for Texaco, Inc. He went on to own and operate the former K.J. Breiner in Lehighton, and also served as a Sales and Environmental Manager for Pipeline Petroleum, Macungie. In retirement, he worked as a starter at Skytop Lodge Golf Course, Skytop.
Pete was a member of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Slatington. He was also a member of the Carbon Co. Sports Hall of Fame as a player on the Palmerton High School 1951-52 undefeated football team, the Palmerton Historical Society, and a former member of the Carbon-Lehigh Intermediate Unit board, the Palmerton Area School Board, and Blue Ridge Country Club.
He was an avid golfer for over 75 years.
Born in Allentown, Pete was a son of the late Oscar and Catherine (Peters) Blynn.
Survivors: Wife; son Scott and wife Lucianna and children Anna and Emma; daughter Peggy and Jeffry Shupp and children Zane, Opal and Selena; son Chris and children Asa, Jenna and Calissa; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister Jane Kresge; brother David.
Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24 in church, 3940 Mountain Rd, Slatington. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday in church. Arrangements, T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, Palmerton.

Dear Shirley and family, on behalf of the Lorenti family we would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family on Pete´s passing. My wife ((Mildred) and I always enjoyed his company and joke telling! My Mom and Dad (Marie and Al) enjoyed his friendship during their times in Naples and visits elsewhere.
I truly enjoyed playing golf with Pete on many occasions in Naples and always looked forward to going out to breakfast with him, my Dad and Jim!! True memories.
May Pete rest in peace he was a great man!

To Shirley and family , I´m so sorry to hear of the passing of Pete , I will be forever grateful to him as a young kid he took a chance on me and gave me my first job out of high school I never knew why he did this but he gave me my opportunity to become something and cause of him I worked as a plumbing and Heating tech until I retired, so thank you Pete I will never forget you and what you did for me !!! God Bless your family and Rest In Peace Pete you well deserve it.

It was a privilege to have Pete as my grandfather. Grandpa had a profound positive impact on my life. He taught me many things. He instilled in me that family, friends, neighbors, community, and country are all things to cherish. He had many stories, interests, friends, and hobbies. His favorite of which were golfing and being with grand children. He will fondly be remembered as the most funny, sharp witted, charming, and loving person by most everyone that knew him.
