Steve M. Havran, 95, of Palmerton, died Monday, Nov. 16. He was the husband of the late Helen C. Havran.
He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 32 years.
Born in Rybnik in the former Czechoslovakia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Margaret Havran.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Palmerton.
Havran served with the 359th Infantry, 90th Division, U.S. Army, during World War II, having participated in the D-Day Invasion, landing on Utah Beach, Normandy. He was decorated with the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Order of the Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with four Bronze Stars.
He was a member of American Legion Post 269, Palmerton.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann, wife of Jeffrey Anthony of Allentown, and Catherine H. of Palmerton; and a son, Stephen R., and his wife, Sheila, of Argyle, TX.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 243 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, with the Rev. William T. Campion officiating, assisted by Deacon William P. Pitts. Interment, parish's old cemetery, Third St., Palmerton. Call 9-10 a.m. Thursday, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
