Steven McDonald

Steven McDonald, 64, passed away on May 28, 2025, in Salem, Missouri. Born on Dec. 15, 1960, Steven lived a life marked by kindness, generosity and a deep-seated faith.

Steven graduated from Rolla High School and spent much of his professional life in Lehigh and Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, where he was involved in buying and repairing homes. He dedicated 15 years to The Impact Project in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, where he worked with children, treating them as if they were his own and profoundly impacting their lives with his love and care. He also spent four years at William Lynch Elementary School in Salem as a janitor.

A man who enjoyed the simplicity of nature, Steven was often found exploring the woods and sharing his vast knowledge with others. His life was a testament to his faith and his belief in helping anyone in need.

Steven is survived by his sons, Charlemagne McDonald and Alex McDonald of Salem, MO; a daughter, Taylor LaTorre of Nazareth, PA; foster son, Mike Ferrell of Reading, PA; and a brother, Jim Raper of Lebanon, MO.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Mai Raper; father, Melvin McDonald; and his adopted brother, Herbert McAlpine.

Steven's life was a beacon of love and service, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Service: A service to celebrate Steven's life will be held at Redeeming Grace Ministries, 570 County Road 2320, Salem, MO, on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m.
