Theresa Dvorsky Obituary

Mrs. Theresa Dvorsky

Mrs. Theresa Dvorsky of State College, PA, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 30, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in 1945 and raised in Coaldale, Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend who touched the lives of many.

Theresa is survived by her loving husband, Robert Dvorsky, with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Her memory will also be cherished by her daughters, Christine Lukowitsch (Martin) of Charlotte, N.C., and Kathy Dvorsky of Emmaus; a son, Joseph Dvorsky (Katherine Frank) of Menomonie, WI; and a sister, Mary Boyer (Steve) of Lake Wynonah.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Mary (Romanek) Kachurak; and her sister Shirley (Kachurak) White.

A graduate of Coaldale High School and Sacred Heart School of Nursing, Theresa dedicated her early career to nursing. Eventually, she and her husband founded Valley Athletic Supply in Lansford, purchased the Panther Valley Mini Mall, and successfully ran both businesses for many years.

After retiring to State College, Theresa enjoyed cheering for Penn State athletic teams and became a very active member of Oakwood Presbyterian Church, serving as a mentor, greeter and committee member and sharing her passion for reading and studying the Bible. She also volunteered as a client advocate at State College Pregnancy Resource Clinic.

Service: Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 655 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. A celebration of Theresa's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, from Oakwood Presbyterian Church, 1865 Waddle Road, State College, with the Rev. Daniel Kiehl officiating. Private interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Pregnancy Resource Clinic, 423 S.
