Willard Whiteman Obituary
Whiteman
Willard W. "Butzy" Whiteman, 96, formerly of Bowmanstown, passed away on Friday, Sept. 18, in In-Patient Hospice at the Palmerton Hospital. He was the husband of Ruth K. (Meckes) Whiteman. They observed their 70th wedding anniversary on July 4.
Prior to retiring, he was employed by the former New Jersey Zinc Co., Palmerton.
Born in Bowmanstown on Nov. 19, 1918, he was a son of the late Daniel I. and Mary Jane (Meinhart) Whiteman.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a life member of Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Co., and he was an ardent Phillies fan.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife, Ruth, are a son, Richard W., and his wife, Susan, and two granddaughters, Devon Whiteman and Allison Schmick, all of Danielsville; his beloved great-grandson Brandyn; a sister, Helen Ahner of Palmerton; and nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded by his three brothers, Delmas, Hubert and Robert.
Service: Private funeral service at convenience of family. No calling hours. Contributions in his name may be made to the Bomanstown Vol. Fire Co., 259 Lime St., Bowmanstown, PA 18030. Arrangements by George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Village of Moorestown-Bath.
