William Beisel Obituary
William W. Beisel, 85, of Mahoning Valley, passed into eternal rest on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Diana L. (Kessler) Beisel, who passed away Aug. 9 of last year.
Born in Guildhall, Vermont, he was a son of the late Ralph and Sarah (Smith) Beisel.
He was a 1958 graduate of the Lehighton High School and also held a degree from Penn State University.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer for Jersey Central Power & Light Co. from 1974-1996. He was also the owner of Beisel's Xmas Tree Hill in Mahoning Township.
Bill was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lehighton and enjoyed his membership with the Bucks County Road Riders motorcycle group.
He enjoyed being outside on his John Deere tractor at the family business and was a former whitetail deer hunter.
Surviving are a daughter, Anna-Lisa Beisel of Lehighton; a son, Kirk Beisel (companion Letitia Hornbaker) of Nazareth; four grandchildren, Caitlin Reed (Shawn), Chelsea Gursky (Aaron), Chantel Binder (Cody) and Chase Oliver; six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother, Dana Beisel, who died in 2013.
Services: Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Carolyn Evans officiating. Interment, Lehighton Cemetery. Call 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday. Contributions in his name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lehighton, 304 Mahoning St., Lehighton, PA 18235. Bill, Bob Yanacek and I car pooled to PSU in Hazleton in the early 1960s. I was sorry to read of his passing.
