William Drumbore Obituary

William James Drumbore

William James Drumbore, 61, of Lentz Trail, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at his home.

Born in Palmerton, he was the son of the late Nancy J. (Hallow) Drumbore.

He graduated in 1982 from Jim Thorpe Area High School and then began his working career as an auto mechanic.

After realizing his passion was for bikes, he became a bicycle technician/mechanic. He worked at the Lehighton Outdoor Center for many years.

In addition to being an avid bicyclist, having spent many miles on the trail, he was an outdoorsman. Bill hiked and hunted and loved everything to do with the great outdoors.

He was also a very knowledgeable gun enthusiast.

Surviving is a sister, Nanette Drumbore of Allentown.

Service: A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The Melber Funeral Home, Jim Thorpe, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name may be made to an animal shelter of choice.

I knew Billy most of my life. We were always good friends. Especially from Hacklebernie Day Camp days. Once in a while we would see each other in passing. This leaves a little piece of my heart gone. I'll miss you brother.

Bill was truly a great friend. I always enjoyed stopping by the lehighton outdoors car to chat with him. He would always help with my bicycle and repair what needed. He would talk about all the bicycle rides he did in the past. Too many things to list about Bill. He was truly a great person all around. I will miss you Bill, RIP. Sincerely, Eddy Kramer

Nanette,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I rode with Bill for years and have so many fond memories of our rides together along with the many group rides that he would organize bringing so many people together. Bill was a big guy with and even bigger personality. Hoping Heaven has Sal's Pizza along with a supply of Coke and Snickers for my friend. Such a big loss to the community. He will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.

Nanette, I rode with Bill a few times over the years. My wife and I would often pass him on the trails and stop to chat. He was just a great guy. He will be sadly missed by all including the biking community.
