Wilmer Kreger Obituary

Wilmer H. Kreger
Wilmer H. Kreger, 94, of Jonas, died Saturday, Feb. 21, in his home. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (George) Kreger, who passed away in 2012.
Born in Jonas, he was a son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Dorshimer) Kreger.
A 1939 graduate of the former Polk Township High School, he worked for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for five years until entering the Army.
Kreger served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Upon his discharge from the service, he was a self-employed farmer in Jonas for 56 years before retiring in 2001.
He was a former member of Salem United Church of Christ, Gilbert.
Surviving are two sons, Gary, and his wife, Janet, of Jonas, and Jeffrey, and his wife, Gail, of Loganton; a daughter Jane of Jonas; and four grandchildren, Joshua Kreger of Jonas, Craig Kreger and Kate Carroll, both of Pittsburgh, and Sean Kreger of Loganton.
Service: Memorial service 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Rt. 209, Brodheadsville. Cremation will have taken place in the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Interment will take place at a later date in Gilbert Cemetery. www.kresgefuneralhome.com.
