Balazs, age 90, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Aspen Grove,
Lambertville, MI.
Adele, the middle child of Lloyd and Melvina (LaPlante) Michaelis, was born in Toledo, OH on July 27, 1925. She graduated from the
former Macomber-Whitney High School and attended the Western Union School for further training. After her divorce, Adele continued to raise her 9 children with love, faith, and determination, while working full time. She was a retired Data Input Operator for Owens Corning where she worked for 20 years. Adele was also a lifelong member of The Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where 6 of her
children also attended.
Adele was a gregarious, outgoing person who always wanted to join in the fun. She had a special knack for cooking and baking (especially apple pies), and was known to make special treats for those who visited. After retiring in her 60s, Adele picked up golf and quilting. She delighted her children, grandchildren, extended family members and friends with her quilt creations. An avid bowler, Adele also enjoyed playing board games and cards and was known to dance the night away at family celebrations. Adele was a special person to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always supporting their decisions and participating in milestones such as graduations, birthdays and
weddings.
Adele was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jacqueline Ball and her brothers-in-law, Richard Ball and Robert Bristow. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Bristow; children, Kathryn (James) Myers, Michael (Paulette) Balazs, Richard (Brenda) Balazs, James (Cindy) Balazs, Patricia (Jeff) Harrell, Susan (Tim) Sparks, Barbara (James) Cason, Daniel (Holly) Balazs and Donald (Mischel) Balazs; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The Balazs family will be receiving friends on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd., Toledo, Ohio where a scripture service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in The Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where the Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In consideration, any contributions can be given to the donor's choice.
