Adella M. Jakubowski

Adella M. Jakubowski, age 97, passed away into the hands of Our Lord Jesus Christ on July 25, 2025. Adel, the daughter of Frank and Louise Nowak, was born on August 19, 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Edward J. Jakubowski in 1974; and her dear and beloved sons, Dale F. Piszchala in 2006, Gary E. Jakubowski in 2012, James M. Piszchala in 2023; and daughter-in-law, Linda Piszchala in 2013.

Adel was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and Stautzenberger Business College. She retired from the University of Toledo in 1988 where she worked as a Technical Assistant in the Communications and TV Services Department. Prior to that she was also employed by Owens- Illinois Glass Company. A widow for many years, she was very independent and self-sufficient. She was a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, and for several years volunteered for the funeral breakfast program. She was a member of the Towne Club and enjoyed antiquing, gardening, political TV shows and reading. Although not an athlete herself, she enjoyed watching her favorite Boston Red Sox and the University of Toledo Rockets on TV.

Adel's greatest love, however, was for her family. She was very proud of her three sons and all their accomplishments. She was always there for them and enjoyed making the holidays very special and meaningful occasions.

Adel is survived by her sister, Patricia Born; and nephews, Mark (Debbie) Born and Wade (Janice) Born. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Please leave a condolence message at CoyleFuneralHome.com.
