Alvin K. Dennis of Whitehouse, OH, went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2021. He passed away peacefully at Hospice of Northwest Ohio at age 80.
Alvin owned Dennis' Market in Holland for 55 years before retiring. To know him was to love him. He knew every customer by name and took great pride in being a friend to all of his regular customers. He had a heart of gold. Most will remember that he used to deliver groceries to those in need. He was a great supporter of Springfield Schools Athletic Programs. He loved to travel, spend time at the lake with his family and enjoyed time with all of his girls and grandkids with his holiday traditions. His family will forever remember and cherish all of the memories with this incredible man. He previously attended Providence Lutheran Church.
He has been married to the love of his life, Gaynell Dennis, for 39 years. He is a loving father and grandfather to 5 children, Laurie Dennis-Hites, Beth Rose, Pamela Rose, Dawn Rose (Matt Sohnly) and Karen Rose. He has 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He lived for kids and grandkids. He was the world's best Papa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mildred Dennis; and is survived by his brother, Wayne Dennis.
Alvin will be received at Walker Funeral Homes, Holland, OH, with a private showing for immediate family due to Covid. Donations can be made in Alvin's memory to Blessings in Disguise at www.blessingsid.org or mail to 6546 Weatherfield Ct, Building E, Suite 3, Maumee, OH, 43537.

Alvin was a mentor to me growing up with out a Dad. I have so many great memories of him and what he did for me. Dennis Market was a landmark for so many years and he was ahead of his time and had a very successful business. God bless you Alvin!

I met Al and Gaynell in 1989, gave me a chance as a distributor for the store. Over the years got to know the family and have fond memories. Al’s gardens were beautiful! He taught me much about plants . Gave me hugs when needed. Has been a few years a good sole will be missed . Prayers and hugs to all the family .
