Ann Szych Obituary
Ann Marie
Ann Marie Szych, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on December 22, 2014, at the Hickory Ridge Nursing Home in Temperance, MI. She was born on June 28, 1922, in Baltimore, Maryland to John and Mary Pilatowski. Ann worked at OI from 1966 until 1979, when she retired. She was a member of St. Hedwig's Parish, and she enjoyed playing Bingo and bird watching. She was the proud mother of 7 children.
Ann is survived by her children, Kathleen (Tom) Holliger, Karen (Tom) Duslak, Dianne (Michael) Drozdowicz, Dennis (Lynette) Szych, Patricia Baker, and Gail Szych; sister, Patricia (Tom) Mlynarczyk, and numerous grandchildren, including great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Pilatowski; son, Mark Szych; brothers, Edward, Joseph and Robert Pilatowski; sister, Helen Gasiorowski, and son-in-law, John Baker.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 17, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel, 6832 Convent Blvd, Sylvania, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory may be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551, or Sisters of Saint Francis, 6832 Convent Blvd., Sylvania, OH 43560.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff at Hickory Ridge of Temperance, MI for the kind and compassionate care given during Ann's stay there.

Ann was a one of a kind lady. I am her son Dennis mother-in-law and only spent a few times at the same occasion as Ann and she made it so much fun. I enjoyed her sense of humor and had great times with her. She will be missed, gatherings will be very different without her but I know we will feel her presence always.
