Avinelle Cuno Obituary

Avinelle Irene Cuno

Avinelle "Bunny" Cuno, 98, went to be with our dad and the Lord the morning of July 3, 2025. Avinelle was born on April 21, 1927, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, to Cecelia and Clarence Shank. She spent most of her younger years in and around Indiana, PA, later moving to Pittsburgh, PA. When she was 18, her birthday was on Easter, and her co-workers affectionately nicknamed her 'Bunny." In 1947, she met the love of her life, John T. Cuno, and they were married on August 16, 1952. She loved to travel with John and in later years with her daughters. In November 2024, she took a 4-day vacation to Miami Beach, Florida, with all of her girls.

Preceding her were her parents; John, her husband of almost 40 years; and Patrick Gill, her grandson. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Charlotte (Michael), Cecelia (Mike), and Debbie (John); her 7 grandchildren, her 13 great-grandchildren, her 10 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Leon Shank; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Avinelle will be on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:30 p.m., at David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 North Summit Street, Toledo, Ohio 43611. Please meet us at the cemetery, Toledo Memorial Park, Chapel of Memories, at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, July 14, 2025, when her body will be interred.

Bunny's family would like to thank Christopher Bates, M.D. for his 40 years of loving medical care for our mom. We also wish to thank Hospice of Northwest Ohio for helping Mom have a peaceful transition to Heaven. To the beautiful family of Avinelle. I want to send my sincere condolences of the loss of your mother. I was very blessed to have met her through Mobile Meals. She was a beautiful lady inside and out. Thank you for the time I prayed with your mother and I hope she enjoyed her food. Gerrie Soden.
