Barbara Durkin Obituary

Barbara Durkin, born in Fletcher, Oklahoma on February 24, 1939, was taken from our lives suddenly on November 18, 2005.
Words sit so heavy, how could they ever be enough for mom, our mom. Her love and devotion poured from her cozy hugs and sweet kisses onto her grandchildren's hearts. Her gentle strength, pure honesty, sensitive commitment to family and her "I Love You" no matter what, rooted and guided her three children. Mom's quiet deep love for dad, our dad, gave him inspiration for valentines that filled her soul. Her beautiful, kind, lovely essence will forever be, and we are so grateful God gave her to us - Our Mom.
Survivors include, husband, Donald; children, Shelly (Naeem) Boraby of Toledo, OH, Jeff (Carrie) Durkin of Toledo, OH, and Brad (Theresa) Durkin of Monroe, MI. Barbara cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Mark, Nathaniel, Mazin, Rachel, and Solomon, sisters, Peggy Moore of Missouri, Liz (Ken) Sharry of Oklahoma, Judy (Sam) Smith of Texas, and Kay (Bill) Cleary of California. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cleo Wasson, father, S.O. Wasson, and brother, Johnie Wasson.
Friends and Family may call 5-9 p.m Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at the Peinert Funeral Home, 7220 Dutch Road Waterville, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Maumee with Fr. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. The family requests memorials to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
