Barbara K. Reid

Barbara K. Reid (71) passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, on January 30, 1954, to Virginia and Darrell Watkins. Barb was a graduate of Whitmer High School, Class of 1972. She then went on to be a Labor & Delivery nurse at The Toledo Hospital, starting in September of 1974. There she dedicated her time to all of her patients for 40 years, making sure each and everyone was treated like family. She also created everlasting friendships with her coworkers and always had a special place in her heart for her 3 South ladies.

When Barb wasn't working you could find her maintaining her beautiful garden full of perfectly placed flowers in the warm sunshine. She absolutely loved Christmas time as well and took pride in her meticulously decorated trees and making her home feel like pure magic during the season. Barb also loved cooking and baking, passing all of her recipes down to her children to keep her traditions alive, including her perfectly decorated Christmas cookies. She also had a special love for her "happy place" which was at Fort Myers beach, anything with the sand and sun could make her happy. Barb had a soft spot for all animals, especially her beloved dog, Dasher.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick Reid; her brother, David Watkins; children, Derek (Maria) Keeler, Brock (Brooke) Keeler, Kierstin (Justin) Schwartz, Tenley (Cody) Staifer; grandchildren, Dylan Keeler, Tanner Keeler, Palmer Schwartz; and step-grandchildren, Carson Staifer, Chase Staifer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Darrell Watkins.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life which will be announced at a later date. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
