Betty DeVault Obituary
Betty M.
Betty M. DeVault, age 84 of Toledo, passed away on February 10, 2016. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to the late Frank and Helen (Peth) Barnhart on March 28, 1931. Betty held positions as an aid in the Toledo Public School system, enjoyed working in the retail setting, and was a devoted wife and mother. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others and lived a very selfless life. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling, playing cards, searching for treasures at garage sales, and playing bingo at the Friendship Park Community Center. She had a great sense of humor and just enough feistiness to keep you on your toes.
Betty is survived by her children, Richard (Debbie) DeVault Jr. and Becky (Oscar) Abitua; grandchildren, Joshua DeVault, Jill (Jeremy) Loesel, Mika Reno, Richard (Kendra) DeVault III, and Claude (Ashley) DeVault; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Spittler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard DeVault Sr.; her daughter, Roseann DeVault; her sister, Barbara Beuning.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 428 N. Erie St., Toledo, OH 43604. Pastor Peter Bowmer will be presiding. Tributes in Betty's memory can be made to the Toledo Humane Society or St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew her. David R. My Aunt Betty always made me feel like a wonderful person...she had a great laugh and smile. I have such lovely memories of life with her and will miss her so much. I'll never forget how she and Becky went to the hospital for Chrissy before we could get there. I'll always be grateful. We love you Becky and Rich and all the family.
