Betty Gentry Obituary
Betty J. Gentry, 85, of Toledo, OH, died Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Ebeid Hospice Residence. Born May 25, 1932, in Cookeville, TN, she was the daughter of Charlie O. and Irene V. (Brown) Fox. She married Edward Gentry on July 27, 1951, in Highland Park, MI. Betty was employed as a personnel technician for the University of Toledo for 22 years, retiring in 1992. She was a lifelong member of Flanders Road Church of Christ and enjoyed writing poetry and children short stories.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Edward; children, Edward (Carole) Gentry, Gregory Gentry and Ann (Bill) Bailey; brother, David W. Fox; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, William C. Fox.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 12 Noon. Interment will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Cookeville, TN. Memorials may be made to Flanders Road Church of Christ or Promedica Hospice.

Betty was one of my dearest friends. She took me under her wing when I was a 17 year old bride. She was instrumental in making me the best wife and later, the best mother, I could be. Betty's great smile could light up the world.
We are much poorer without Betty in our world. My heart breaks for Edward, Eddie, Greg, and Ann. Her great love for all her family was monumental.
Betty's greatest love was her Savior and His Church.
Betty will be greatly missed by all whose life she touched.

I remember Betty in the Human Resources dept. at The University of Toledo and she was always smiling and seemed to be a jolly happy person. then I started going to Flanders Road Church of Christ and knew immediately who she was when I saw here and she was still smiling - I am sure she will be missed tremendously. praying for the family.
