Burl Skiles Obituary
April 13th, 1947 - November 26th, 2025
Burl Clifford Skiles, 78, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025. Born April 13, 1947, in Bono, Ohio, Burl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Burl worked for the City of Toledo as a refuse collector from 1972 until retiring in 2010, and also drove part-time for ProMedica. Known for his kindness and strong work ethic, he never met a stranger and always lent a helping hand. Burl volunteered at the local jail and was deeply committed to his family and faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lucy; children, Chad Skiles, Brad (Pam) Skiles, and Amanda (Paul) Emch; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 2, from 5–7 p.m., at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo. Funeral service Wednesday, December 3, at 12 p.m., at Monclova Road Baptist Church.

Our hearts break. We just became friends again on Facebook. We are so grateful for knowing this kind, softspoken, Godly man for so many years. Condolences to you Lucy and the family. Our hope lies in seeing him again in Glory! Prayers for you all as you go through the days ahead.
