Carol June Ladd

Carol J. Ladd, age 93, died February 3, 2018 at Foundation Park Alzheimer's Center. The daughter of Eric Hartman and Mabel (Smith), she was born June 15, 1924 in her grandparents' Cass Road farm house. She used to fondly tell stories of growing up on her grandparents' farm with her parents and brother, Kenny. Carol graduated, an honor student, from Maumee High School in 1942. She married Clinton Ladd, September 16, 1943. They lived in south Toledo where Carol had an Avon route in the 60's and 70's. She was an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction books. She was also accomplished at sewing and knitting. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years; and her brother, Kenneth Hartman. She is survived by sons, Jerry (Birgit), Ron, and daughter Gail (Bill); and three grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes services and interment will be private.
